A.R. is the author of the Off The Job #2: A New World View record. At the time the journal fragment was written A. R. is 36 years old, working in the Zone, and struggling with his sexuality after having gone through a divorce.
Alex
Alex was a member of the radio show 'My Two Best Friends and Me'. According to the show's host, Alex is deceased. Several weeks after Alex's passing, Alex's voice was heard by Ben and the unnamed host to be coming from a bush.
Alicia
Alicia is the subject of the narrative-style radio transmission A Trapped Rabbit. The transmission details her peeling a struggling rabbit from the forest floor and finding it had been tethered to the ground by vinelike strands, some of which appeared to be red with blood.
Anna
Three separate logs mention women named Anna; none of the logs contain enough supporting detail to suggest whether these are the same Anna or multiple different Annas.
- Boom Bunny: The Anna in this log is mentioned by the anonymous speaker as having voiced support for the idea of stopping the flow of new resources into the Zone in 1965.
- Broken Bunny: The Anna in this log is briefly addressed by a Dr. Lopez, who is seeking her agreement on the feeling that the Bunnies are playing with them.
- Glittering Boulder: The Anna in this log is a meteorologist working in the Zone, who reported an encounter with the Glittering Boulder anomaly while collecting data from weather stations. She speculates on the mechanism by which the Glittering Boulders induce rapid acceleration in cars.
Argonza, Lou
Lou Argonza is an eyewitness to the Sierram Disaster and a guest on Frequency File Episode 3. She was born and raised in Sierram, was 9 years old at the time of the disaster, and survived along with the other children of Sierram due to being away at summer camp during the LIM Fair. She and the other children were evacuated from the Zone on February 13th, 1973. Lou was severely traumatized by the incident, reporting on the Frequency File to still being unable to go anywhere near a county fair despite the 20 years that had passed since the event. She is voiced by Denise Lee.[1]
Baker, Ed
Ed Baker is an astronaut on the American spaceflight missions and a caller in Frequency File Episode 5. He was on the third landing mission and what he saw and experienced during the LIM-assisted landing procedure for the mission traumatized him.
Ben
Ben was a member of the radio show 'My Two Best Friends and Me'. According to the show's host, he was last seen running into a bush following the sound of former show member Alex's voice. The host then heard a scream, followed by Ben's voice coming from the same bush, sounding "off."
Carrol, V.
V. Carrol is the reporter of two recorded accidents in the Zone, one in which a Left-Right sent their team veering off the road into a house full of squatters and one in which a Spike Log shredded a staff car. Carrol is American, says "sir" very frequently, and believes that all Canadians speak French.
Cedar
Cedar is an orange tabby cat, described as hefty in build and with a snaggletooth. An unnamed Zone resident reported him missing, but he returned during the recording of the broadcast.
Chen
Chen is present for the psychiatric debriefing of Sgt. Dale Farrow. It is unknown what role they hold. [2]
Christina
Christina is a person who works in the Zone, however it is not mentioned whether she works for ARDA specifically. She is the recipient of a Dictaphone recording from Dr. Richard Prebble about Tourists anomalies in the Zone. [3]
Clive
Clive is a pneumatube technician that went missing and was later found hiding in a field lab and insisting he'd only been gone a week.[4] It is theorized that Clive is the same pneumatube technician who wrote The Mailman records however this is not confirmed.
Dante and Mango
Dante and Mango are a hiker's dogs that are credited with his survival after fighting off an anomaly.[5] The names Dante and Mango are also references to Ironwood Studio pets Dante and Mango Source: Pacific Drive Credits: Studio Pets
Dean, Paul
Paul Dean is a Washington biologist and bear expert with allegedly bizarre theories and disruptive behavior such as bursting into legislative sessions. He claimed to know why animals were no longer present on the Olympic Peninsula.[6]
DJ Belcher
DJ Belcher is a DJ for the Flash Wednesday radio event.[7]
DJ Spitter
Dj Spitter is a DJ for the Flash Wednesday radio event.[7]
Douglas, Captain Neil
Captain Neil Douglas is a member of the US Army who files the report detailed in the Spike Puddle logbook entry.
Douglas, Zap
Zap Douglas is the host of Zap’s Douglas Fir Your Knowledge Tree Facts on KRBZ the Zone as seen advertised on billboards throughout the Zone. He primarily talks about trees and takes issue with Dr. Kauker's theories on the determination of plants.[8] It is alleged he lives in a stable pocket of the Zone with no way in or out, where even time remains static.[6]
Elaine
Elaine is a chef and a guest on KRBZ The Zone.[9]
Entwistle, Meg
Meg Entwistle is the writer of the mystery drama 'The Old Road' which was written especially for KADD Mystery Radio.[10]
Dr. Essid
Dr. Essid is a scientist who worked for ARDA and is only mentioned as reporting on Birkland currents.[11]
Dr. Everett
Dr. Everett is a scientist who worked for ARDA. Many of his field notes discuss the logistics of what ARDA was doing in the Zone (ARDA Fuel Tanker, Box Truck, Supply Containers, Spark Tower). He is credited with the theory about nothing truly being lost in the Zone and is instead moved somewhere or some-when else.[12] He notes that the anomalies seemingly evolve over time to defend and deter[13] and that that the anomalies don't intend harm.[14]
Sgt. Farrow, Dale
Sgt. Dale Farrow is a member of the U.S. Military. He undergoes a psychiatric debriefing in which he expresses his fears and frustrations regarding anomalies, specifically Moldy Balloons. He states that he cannot sleep at night.[2]
Gabriella
Gabriella is implied to be a scientist who worked for ARDA, however her role in the organization is not specified. On May 14th 1965 it is alleged that she feels that no new equipment should be brought into the Zone. [15]
Gallaghar, Russell
Russell Gallaghar stars in 'The Old Road' mystery drama on KADD Mystery Radio.[10]
Dr. Garleese
Dr. Garleese (a.k.a. Dr. Garlic) is the author of Minty Fresh Nightmares and a guest on KRBZ The Zone. They believe that going to bed with fresh breath is the cause of nightmares and mention they would like to study the host of KRBZ The Zone.[16]
Gordon, Eric
Eric Gordon worked for ARDA, however his role in the organization is not specified. He was a collegue of Dr. Kelly Lombard and died due to a Shaker.[17]
Prof. Gould, Sir Anthony, FRS
Prof. Sir Anthony Gould FRS is a professor and Fellow of the Royal Society that visited the SRR during its founding meeting in which he provided teacake tasting.[18]
Hansen, R.
R. Hansen is a person implied to have worked for ARDA. [19]
Harry
Harry is an actor in the ARDA training reel about dealing with anomalies.[20]
Holmes, K. A.
K. A. Holmes is the host of the radio show "KADD Mystery Radio Productions presents".[10]
Hopper, G.
G. Hopper is implied to be a scientist who worked for ARDA, though it is not specified if this was her official role in the organization. She recorded data on anomalies capable of electrogenesis.[21]
Jack
Jack is someone who worked for ARDA or the US military. It is unclear what his role is. He is the recipient of a transmission about the dangers of bringing new things into the Zone due to concerns from scientists that bringing new things in would cause new anomalies to form. [15]
Jackson
Jackson is the only member of a team to be reported as injured during an encounter with a Left-Right reported by V. Carrol. The injury was reported as likely a broken wrist.
Jill
Jill is implied to be a scientist who worked for ARDA. She worked on researching the Crackling Crawler anomaly.[22]
Jim
Jim works in the offices of the US Military though it is unclear exactly what his role is. He is accused of not briefing soldiers properly before sending them into the Zone.[23]
Joe (Attorney)
Joe is the attorney of an unnamed former resident of the Olympic Peninsula. He is Indigenous, and has a collection of Coast Salish art in his office. He is unsympathetic to his white client's protests about losing their land to ARDA's expansion of the exclusion zone.[24]
Joe (Army)
Joe is a member of the US Military and was stationed in the Zone during its operation. He is implied to either have artistic talent or just simply enjoy drawing as he is stated to have drawn a picture of the view from the van he was stuck in after it got pulled into a tree by an Abductor. He has a wife named Maggie and an unspecified number of children.[25]
Justin
Justin is a friend of Noah and presumably Taffy. He is a member of the Forgotten Paths Zone podcast and is apathetic about the game sessions being recorded and broadcast, seeming to just want to get on with playing the game.[26][27]
Karina
Karina is the host of the radio show "Cook with Karina".[28]
Dr. Kauker
Dr. Kauker is an alleged doctor who lectures on biology. He believes that what is and is not a plant is determined by whether or not the thing has eyeballs. He has also written multiple correspondences to Zap Douglas.[29]
Dr. Kingi, A. F.
Dr. A. F. Kingi is a scientist who worked for ARDA. Many of his private field notes discuss the invention and installation of new equipment to be used to adapt and overcome the difficult environmental conditions of the Zone (Lead Shielding, LIM Magnetizer, Plasma Generator, Transmuter). Other field notes detail specific Zone phenomena such as Goldshell Stumps, Twisted Embers and Hot Dust as well as details the impacts of an ARDA lab explosion on the environment.[30] He resigned from ARDA after the creation of the Transmuter presumably due to growing frustrations with the way things were being run by ARDA[31] and the impacts LIM technology was having on the surrounding environment. In his notes he states that he has hope that the next generation would be the ones to 'right our wrongs'.[32]
President Koch, Lawrence
President Lawrence Koch was president in 1955. He was present for and introduced Dr. Ophelia Turner and LIM technology to the public in 1955.[33] It is unsure the exact date and year of his death however it is known he died prior to April 20th 1969.[6]
Landowski, Lucy
Lucy Landowski worked for ARDA in the logistics department. She had many ideas for ARDA and Anomaly merchandise.[34] It is unknown whether this was part of her job with ARDA or if it was a hobby.
Leigh, Mervyn
Mervyn Leigh stars in 'The Old Road' mystery drama on KADD Mystery Radio.[10]
Lenny
Lenny is the recipient of a call from ARDA Field Headquarters about Devil Grinders. They are inattentive and implied to be kissing someone whilst taking the call.[35]
Dr. Liu, John
Dr. John Liu was a member of the SRR prior to its disbandment and is implied to have worked for ARDA afterward.[36] He presented a summary titled "Increasing Interference in our Modern World" at the SRR meeting on December 15th, 1950.[37]
Dr. Lombard, Kelly
Dr. Kelly Lombard is a scientist who worked for ARDA. On February 12th, 1969, she made a dictaphone recording of what is presumably a memorial for her colleague, Eric Gordon.[17]
Lopez, Alejandro
Alejandro Lopez is an accountant who reportedly went missing for eight years and had no memory of where he was for that time or the amount of time that had passed. [5]
Dr. Lopez
Dr. Lopez is a scientist who worked for ARDA. They researched anomalies, most notably Bunnies[38][39] and Sizzling Mist. They stated that intelligence could not be ascribed to bunnies and that they should not be referred to as "bunnies" at all.[39] A later memo from Dr. Lopez states that they feel as though the bunnies are "playing" with them and that they do not like this as it makes them feel like an experiment.[38]
Luo, Yang
Yang Luo is a person who details how they went parasailing in the Zone using a Pickpocket, a parachute, skis and a vehicle.[40]
Maggie
Maggie is the wife of Joe and intended recipient of his letter about being stuck in a tree due to an Abductor. [25]
McKrut, Lyle
Lyle McKrut is a local man in the town of Clearwater who claims to know what caused possums to fly and that he can speak with the late president Koch.[5]
Meera
Meera is an ARDA maintenance worker who worked alongside Tobias Barlow. One of her duties included "potholing jobs". [41]
Dr. Mensah
Dr. Mensah is a scientist who worked for ARDA. They researched Zone re-stabilization as shown in their private field notes on Anchor Plugs and Zone Stabilizers.
Miller
Miller is a person known to V. Carrol and mentioned in a report of an encounter with a Left-Right who once dated a Francophone Canadian.
Dr. Mulligan, Henry F. W.
Dr. Henry F. W. Mulligan was a member of the SRR prior to its disbandment and is implied to have worked for ARDA afterward.[36] At the SRR Meeting on November 18th, 1949, he provided "local cider 'tasting' " for attendees of the meeting.[42]
Murrell, Carolyn
Carolyn Murrell is the fake name of a guest on Frequency File provided to Chiaki Saruhashi. She lived in the Zone for ten years and her partner worked for ARDA. She was the ringleader of an illicit smuggling ring[43] which she ran to fight the boredom of Zone life.[44] She is voiced by Shara Kirby.
Nagata, Ellison
Ellison Nagata is a man who conducted Zone tours during the Zone's operation. He had multiple tour packages available however would not take tourists to the Old Wall or Deep Zone.[45] He recounts meeting Oppy and that she was not a fan of his work.[46] He is voiced by Desmond Cloverdale.
Nguyen, M.
M. Nguyen is a scientist who worked for ARDA. They discovered the Neon Reef anomalous phenomena, at first thinking it was another hallucination like those from the Mass Hallucination.[47]
Nicole
Nicole is an entomologist who stars on Bugwatch. They found and were subsequently attacked by a new bug species near Sierram. [6]
Noah
Noah is a member of the Forgotten Paths Zone podcast and is the game's GM and podcast's host. He is the most into broadcasting the group's sessions and believes that "if they're going to play they may as well create stuff for the people out there."[26] [27]
O' Bostrell, Buck
Buck O' Bostrell is the Pierce County Sheriff who feels ARDA has not been supportive of local authorities in tracking down fugitives who flee to the Olympic Peninsula.[5]
O'Hanlon, Gil
Gil O'Hanlon works for and presumably owns O'Hanlon which provides utility vehicles for state and federal needs.[48]
Okada, David
David Okada is credited with closing a trio of missing person cases in 1970 within the Zone.[4]
Dr. Olsen, Anita
Dr. Anita Olsen is a scientist who worked for ARDA. On March 21st, 1961 she shares her conclusions about Bollards with an unknown other person (though presumably another ARDA scientist) via a transmission. She suggests that Bollards are a deliberate reaction or defense mechanism of the Zone, conclusions of which are dismissed and shut down.[49] On November 28th, 1968, she states that Tour Bus anomalies are an evolution. She also states that after the death of Dr. Powell, she is now in charge.[50]
Dr. Patel, Niraj
Dr. Niraj Patel is a scientist who worked for ARDA. The researched anomalies such as Burp Bunnies, Blacksmiths, Minutemen and Boom Bunnies as well as the other effects of LIM technology on the Olympic Peninsula. They also researched the drop in fauna across the Peninsula and the strange occurrence of birds populations remaining stable despite the drop in population of all other fauna.[51] Their area of specialty was geological anomalies. [52] They were one of the scientists alleged to be in support of not bringing any new equipment into the Zone as of May 14th, 1965, due to the belief that new equipment was 'feeding' the Zone and aiding the evolution of new anomalies[15] and is referenced as having a theory that ARDA twisted half the Peninsula into some kind of Klein bottle. [21]
Phillips, Richard
Richard Phillips claims to have worked in the Zone and stayed for six years after its decommission.[53] He provides Chiaki Saruhashi with documents relating to the Zone[54] and later appears on Frequency File Episode 7: Zone Life in parts 1 and 2 as well as in Frequency File Ep.8: The Breachers in part 4. He knew of Dr. Ophelia Turner and has sat in on one of her seminars about LIM tech.[46]
Dr. Powell
Dr. Powell was a scientist who worked for ARDA. He died on November 28th, 1968 due to interacting with a Tour Bus anomaly.[50]
Dr. Prebble, Richard
Dr. Richard Prebble is a scientist who was temporarily contracted to work for ARDA. Whilst working for ARDA he worked on research of anomalies such as Tourists. After completing his review he wanted to return to academia and applied for a position in Portland.[3]
Presley, Elvis
Elvis Presley was a real life American singer and actor, whose death is surrounded by conspiracy theories. He is referenced in a Fax message to still be alive and in the Zone.[6]
Ratzenberger, Ian
Ian Ratzenberger is a member of the Pacific Sasquatch sports team. It is unspecified what kind of sport he plays.[55]
Reed, Debbie
Debbie Reed is the host/author of Zone Motors and You.
Dr. Ricci
Dr. Ricci is a scientist who worked for ARDA. The researched LIM technology and later it's impacts on the Olympic Peninsula, most notably the Pacemaker anomaly.[56]
Dr. Robinson, Reginald Stanley
Dr. Reginald Stanley Robinson was a member of the SRR prior to its disbandment and is implied to have worked for ARDA afterward.[36] He was assigned to take notes and format minutes from SRR meetings as of September 16th, 1949 at the SRR's founding meeting.[18] He is later given the responsibility of minute-taking and record keeping on November 18th, 1949.[42] At the SRR meeting on January 15th, 1950, issues with Dr. Reginald Stanley Robinson's minute-taking are discussed. Said issues are presumably related to his incorrect usage of the Oxford comma.[57]
Roger
Roger is the recipient of a transmission from Dr. Niraj Patel regarding wildlife populations in the Zone.[51]
Rep. Rondeaux
Representative Rondeaux is a member of the U.S. Department of National Security who visited the SRR on September 21st, 1951 to discuss proper containment procedures for LIM technology.[58] He visited again during the SRR's final meeting on October 17th, 1955 to discuss prevention of rogue LIM experimentation outside of ARDA facilities.[36]
Rosen, Beth
Beth Rosen is an Elma WA local Bigfoot expert.[5]
Sally
Sally is the recipient of a phone call on October 2nd, 1967 from an unknown caller detailing a failed attempt to catch Scott using Shaggy Scrambler Anomalies.[59]
Sanderson
Sanderson is the reporter of a potentially anomalous pimple that allegedly never empties no matter how much it is squeezed.[6]
Scott
Scott, also known as: Rainforest Rogue, the Washington Wanderer, the Green Avenger, McKnife and Notorious Scott[6] is a fugitive who was on the run from state police during the operating years of the Zone.[6] He fled to the Zone where he was pursued by an unknown person/persons who attempted to catch him by using Shaggy Scramblers but were unsuccessful.[59]
Singley, Desmond
Desmond Singley is a member of the Singley family and works for Singley and Family Hauling (a.k.a. S&F Hauling). He is the author of the Singley & Family #5 and Singley & Family #7 journal fragments. He lost his right eye due to an anomaly during a job cleaning up an ARDA science facility and has a collection of washing machines on his front lawn.[60]
Singley, George
George Singley is a member of the Singley family and is the owner of Singley and Family Hauling (a.k.a. S&F Hauling)[61]. He is the author of the Singley & Family #1 and Singley & Family #6 journal fragments. He notes that instead of running the family business, he secretly wanted to run his own circus. As a way of fulfilling this wish he collects old taxidermy from the houses he is contracted to clear out as well as items such as a popcorn machine.[61] He has a silver finger after sticking it into a bucked of "melted silver" that had come from a leak at a gas station he had been contracted to fix by ARDA. He hides his finger with a glove knit by Desmond Singley's wife.[62]
Singley, Marie
Marie Singley is a member of the Singley family and works for Singley and Family Hauling (a.k.a. S&F Hauling)[63]. She is the author of the Singley & Family #3 journal fragment. She collects paints that she finds whilst on the job to take home to her children.[63]
Singley, Shirin
Shirin Singley is a member of the Singley family and works for Singley and Family Hauling (a.k.a. S&F Hauling).[64] They the author of the Singley & Family #2 and Singley & Family #4 journal fragments. They are attending night school and have the assignment to write a journal in English.[65] During hauling jobs they collect bobblehead toys for their daughters.[64]
Singley, Toni
Toni Singley is a member of the Singley family.[66] She was inspired by the female scientists of the Zone and decided to go to college.[66]
Dr. Naveen Sohi was a member of the SRR prior to its disbandment and is implied to have worked for ARDA afterward.[36] Dr. Naveen Sohi provided naan and roti sampling to the SRR meeting on February 15th, 1952.[67]
The Squatchers
The Squatchers are a group of eight breachers who were investigating Bigfoot in the Zone and cultivated farms of anomalized mushrooms to attract it. They disappeared soon after and it is alleged that Bigfoot got them.[68]
Strawberry, Steve
Steve Strawberry was the last Mayor of Sierram and announced in a radio broadcast that Sierram had been selected to host the LIM Fair.[69]
Taffy
Taffy is a friend of Noah and presumably Justin. They are a member of the Forgotten Paths Zone podcast and is apathetic about the game sessions being recorded and broadcast, seeming to just want to get on with playing the game.[26][27]
Prof. Wallace, Peter
Prof. Peter Wallace was a member of the SRR prior to its disbandment and is implied to have worked for ARDA afterward.[36] During the operations of the SRR there was an unspecified incident in his home lab around the time of September 21st 1951.[58]
Wan, Cynthia
Cynthia Wan is a Blackberry Lake local arborist who claims to have found a new subspecies of fir that grow at extraordinary speeds. [5]
Dr. Wan
Dr. Wan is a scientist who worked for ARDA. They studied the after effects of the Lim Fair, most notably the anomaly created by the disaster, Colossal Cappy.[70]
Ward, A.
A. Ward is mentioned as having sent the teletype autoscript about the Wriggling Wreck anomaly to an unknown receiver at ARDA.[71]
Dr. Washington, Ken
Dr. Ken Washington is a scientist who worked for ARDA as the assistant to the general manager of the Section 1 Northern Facility. He was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula and returned there to work on researching LIM technology with his goal being to put it in the hands of the people. He spearheaded the LIM Fair project and personally reviewed town applications to decide which town would host the first ever LIM Fair and be the recipients of the first LIM technology to reach the hands of the general public.[72]
Wiley, Dennis
Dennis Wiley is the host of the radio show The Scavenging Gourmet.[73]
Wolff, Maria
Maria Wolff was someone who lived in the Zone. It is unclear if they worked for ARDA or the military. They share their secret to getting in and out of the Zone in Off The Job #4: To Canada and Back Again to go drinking in Canada.[74]
