DICTAPHONE RECORDING, OFFICE OF DR. RICHARD PREBBLE, CIRCA 1976.

Hi! Christina! Hi! How are you? So, um, it turns out you were right. We've had reports from several regions of the Zone now and they're all very similar. We have these dummy things out in the wilderness and, um, we also have them inside abandoned houses. We also have them in gas stations, on the road, on top of signs... One report here says on a roof. We've spotted about six hundred now. The file catalogs each and every one.

Oh, and you're quite right about the other thing, too. Yeah, I know what happens when someone touches one. We all got plenty of data on that.

So, um, I'm going to be applying for a position in Portland now. I've done my review. It was a great time being contracted here, for sure, but I'm not sure I want to work at ARDA full time, you know? It's, um, it's very strange here. You work in a very strange place. I'm sure you're doing very important work and I respect that greatly, but I think I'd like to go back to academia now.

Oh God, there's one of them outside. I know for a fact it wasn't there before.

Synopsis

Tourists are plastic mannequins that can be found scattered around the Zone. They can either spawn alone or as a group of up to 20. They can move around slightly when The Driver is not looking at them. Upon touching a Tourist they will explode violently and may trigger any nearby tourists to explode alongside them in a chain-reaction.

Resources

Have a chance to drop singular pieces of Plastic, Copper Wire, and/or ThermoSap Crystals upon being dispatched.

Counter

Hitting Tourists with your car should be avoided at all cost. Aside from avoiding these anomalies altogether, The Driver can trigger a group of them from a safe distance by throwing a lit road flare/bioflare at them or firing a flare gun/bioflare gun in their vicinity.

If contact cannot be avoided, activation of the LIM Shield ability before contact will prevent damage.

Junction Conditions

These anomalies appear in greater numbers, are more aggressive towards the player, and move faster when a junction has the Something's Moving condition in effect.

Tourists also cause increased damage to the player's car when a junction has the Concussive Blasts, Torn Apart, and/or Magnified Explosions condition in effect.

Contact with exploding Tourists will sap the car's battery and gas tank when a junction has the Exhausting Explosions condition in effect.
