The Red Meadow Research Facility is an ARDA research facility located at Junction C1 in the Mid-Zone that was reported to have been demolished in 1961 due to structural damage.
It is a required location in the mission Red Meadow Research Facility.
History
The Red Meadow Research Facility was an ARDA research facility located in the Mid-Zone of the Olympic Exclusion Zone. It was used by various ARDA scientists including Oppy and Francis to conduct research on LIM technology. [1]
In 1961 ARDA reported that the facility would be demolished due to structural damage to the facility however it was not actually demolished and was instead used as a lab for Dr. James Cay to continue research on The Well after a lab accident on September 14th 1961 after which he had been reported as dead. The lab continued to be used for his research until March 1963.[2]
Layout
The entrance to the lab ruins is a tunnel labelled B01 and is overlooked by an observation tower. The entry room is rectangular in shape and has rows of deep pits surrounded by barrier railing. The main room is in ruins and appears to have collapsed in areas.
To the top left corner of the room from the entrance, is a tunnel that leads deeper into the facility; an area that was not included on the site blueprints.[3]
At the end of the tunnel is an alarmed,[4] circular, domed room. In the middle of the room is a circular platform surrounded by a shallow moat of water. Around the outside of the room, outside of the moat and on the middle platform are multiple research stations positioned equidistantly. Hanging from the center of the roof is a broken glowing sphere, the lower half of which has fallen and now rests on the middle platform of the room. Leading to the sphere are multiple suspended walkways.
