Scavengers

Amongst silver bark and silver light
On a chill and silent moonlit night
They came at first in groups of six
No sound, no words, no calls betwixt

With prying eyes and prying sight
They ventured left and ventured right
To pick apart our world's remains
As scavengers: our loss, their gain

Nomad

An Anomaly came from Zone number One
So ghastly its aspect, it made scientists run
But they left it so sad
This unearthly nomad
Whose wanted naught but innocent fun

You

Ours is a timeless love
A classic love
That of legends and lore
Worthy of study by the students of tomorrow

Ours is the purest love
A gentle love
That grows with the seasons
To cover the landscape of our life

Ours is the warmest love
A nurturing love
That holds is in its safety
A certainty in these times of change

Shame

The thunder's tearing, twilight tantrum
Rips through the tawny sunset
The first screams of a world newborn
Birthed in pain

A curling calico cloudscape concludes
This shaking of the day
And lurks like guilt in an evening sky
Witness to our shame

Human hubris hangs heavy here
As nature turns her back
And no litanies can catalog
All that we shall change
