Also nicknamed "Pneumatubes," the pneumatic tubes that criss-cross the Zone are low-tech, but that may well be why they've survived to this day. It seems the less complicated the technology, the less the Zone is likely to scramble it and screw it up.

Synopsis
Pneumatic Deposit Boxes are a type of loot container found fairly commonly in all parts of the Zone. They can be spotted from a distance by their radio antennas, which have a glowing green tip that is visible at night. They are also frequently found surrounded by wooden boxes, Sodium Vapor Lights, and, on occasion, Lead Shielding.
They contain a random selection of common resources and have a chance to also contain a text Record, any type of Cosmetic (paint being by far the most common), and/or a Dumpster Pearl.
They are non-functional as actual pneumatic tubes and cannot be used to send items back to the pneumatic inbox in the Auto Shop.
