Ooh, shiny!

Looks like the Zone has smiled upon you today. This part will last you only as long as it holds together. It's just like they say: if you love it, take it out for a ride, then let it go.

Peculiar items cannot be repaired under any circumstances. They can either be used until they break or be scrapped.

A peculiar item has 40% more max health than normal, and gets a random additional resistance to damage - either 30% to both impact and explosion damage, or 45% to one other damage type like acid or electric. For items like panels and doors that already have a resistance, the extra resistance from Peculiar has a chance to be limited to the resistance the item already has if it's of the same damage type - for example, a peculiar Steel Bumper, which normally has 20% impact resistance, which rolls for extra impact and explosion resistance may sometimes only get an extra 20% impact and no explosion resistance rather than 30% in both, while it would always get the full 45% resistance to any other damage type.

Peculiar car parts holding fuel like Backseat Tanks also get a 40% increase to their fuel capacity.

Peculiar tools get increased utility at the cost of reduced max durability/capacity. For example, a peculiar Large Fuel Can has 30% less capacity but transfers fuel 3.5 times faster, a peculiar Plasma Scrapper has 55% less durability but "Excellent" resource yield instead of "Fair", while a peculiar Scrapper goes from "Poor" to "Great" resource yield.
