Logbook Entry

This grumbling beast seems a little too big for a humble station wagon. The whole thing threatens to guzzle gasoline like a puppy gobbling kibble. Still, it's reasonably hard-wearing and will do the job of getting you (and your car) from A to B.

The Carbureted Engine is the Station Wagon's default power plant; and while not altogether insufficient for its purposes, many Breachers will find its power lacking as the car will struggle to accelerate quickly, sustain particularly high speeds or climb particularly steep grades. Most players choose to replace it with a more powerful engine as soon as they get the chance, however it does have the benefit of being the most fuel-efficient engine in the game (aside from the electric AMP Engine, if the reader is willing to count that) with a listed fuel consumption of 18 miles per gallon.

As with any engine, a fitted and latched hood panel is capable of blocking most damage that would otherwise be dealt to it -- but do be wary of hard, head-on blows to the car's undercarriage, sustained electrocution and acid water, as these are still capable of damaging the engine. Removing the hood panel will fully expose the engine to damage -- the upshot of doing so being that the engine's usual tedious drone will be enhanced into an excitingly guttural rumble.

Equipped with the Carbureted Engine, the Station Wagon is capable of achieving a flat-out forward speed of up to 110 km/h or 68 mi/h; and is capable of accelerating, flat-out, to a speed of 100 km/h from a stationary position in about 17 seconds.
